Tomio Sugaya (Director, Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka)
Born in 1958. After working in an editorial position, took on the job of curator at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. Joined the planning office of Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka in 1992 as a curator. Promoted to head of the planning office at Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka in 2017 and has held his current position since 2019, while also being involved in many critiques and reviews of art and design. Curated exhibitions include Discovering Art City Osaka, and The Era of Yoshio Hayakawa. Publications include The Method of Urban Design (co-authored), Critical Words for Design History (co-authored), and more.

Kenjiro Hosaka (Director, Shiga Museum of Art (SMoA))
Born in 1976. M.A. from Keio University. He was a curator at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (MOMAT) from 2000 through 2020. He has curated many exhibitions for MOMAT including Francis Bacon (2013), The Voice Between: The Art and Poetry of Yoshimasu Gozo (2016), and The Japanese House: Architecture and Life after 1945 (2017). He has also curated for other institutions, including Logical Emotion: Contemporary Art from Japan, Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich and Vladivostok Biennale 2022.

Moderator: Chieko Kinoshita (Associate Professor, Osaka University)
Completed graduate school at Kobe Design University. Subjects of study include contemporary art, cultural policy, and business production. Manages Osaka University’s community space Art Area B1 and the network project involving 14 institutions, Creative Island Nakanoshima. Other main projects include Namura Art Meeting ’04-’34, Roppongi Crossing 2010: Can There Be Art?, Mega Art Storage Kitakagaya, Roppongi Art Night 2016; was a curator of Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions Off Site, public program director of Okayama Art Summit, and contributes to cultural policy by working as a member on art and culture committees for the government.
