Gallery Collaborations

Taigado is an art gallery placed in Gion Kyoto, founded over 80 years. Yohzou Shoji started a painting scroll workman store around 1935. His son Keiichi took the store name Taigado to an art gallery in Gojyozaka, specifically selected Japanese painting as new career in 1972. The gallery moved to Gion, near Yasaka Shrine in the year 1986. Masakazu is the third generation, follow their will continuously 50 years.

Cave Art Center was founded in 1983, by Mr. Hong Ping Tao. He, as an artist himself, acts an operator and promoter while dedicated to provide a public platform for the young and middle-aged artists. The Gallery experienced the 1980’s when Taiwan’s economy was blooming and 1990’s when culture was developed in multi-aspect manners.
In addition to running the art industry, he also operated Cave Academy, offering lectures on art research and appreciation, thus starting the popularizing of art. He also published the magazine “Dun Huang Art News” and began Internet art auction activities.
