Space Four One Three

We would like to introduce emerging painters from Japan and Korea: two artists from FINCH ARTS (Japan), Nana Kuromiya and Taishi Nishi, who have been active in recent years, and six artists from SPACE Four One Three (Korea), including Lee Seung-chan and Shim Hye-rin. In addition to an overview of their individual painting languages, we would like to show their contemporaneity and unique contexts.

FINCH ARTS opened in 2016 in Ponto-cho, Kyoto, and will move to the Art Complex "Jodo fukugo" in Jodoji, Kyoto in 2019. The gallery holds exhibitions in various places, and actively introduces artists of the same generation in Kyoto. Artists include Nana Kuromiya, Taishi Nishi, Miho Iida, Masato Mizutani, Mari Tanimoto, Mio Tanigawa, Yosuke Yano, NAZE, Kai Maetani, Shu Okamoto. Directer: Satoshi Sakuraoka.

Space Four One Three

SPACE Four One Three opened in 2009 in Munlae-dong, Seoul, Korea. It began its activities by using an unused factory as a collaborative production center, and has supported a system that allows young artists to continue to produce and present their work autonomously and self-generously. While holding independent projects on a yearly theme, we have opened up the channels of connection to new artists by setting a policy of operating in an open source format that can be viewed online. In collaboration with PACK, a platform that actively explores the production and post-production channels of art, we continue to try to expand the activities of artists in many fields.
